Access data and server logs
When you visit the site, your browser sends information including your IP address, the time and destination of the request, browser and operating system details, and, where applicable, the page you visited beforehand (referrer). This data is processed to deliver the website and recorded in server logs for troubleshooting and security analysis.
The purpose is to operate the site reliably and securely, including fixing errors and preventing abuse. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is keeping my information service available and secure. The website cannot be delivered without technically necessary connection data.
Hosting
The website runs on a virtual server I operate at IONOS. The hosting provider may process connection data and server logs to provide and secure the service.
Processing needed to provide and secure the website is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Providers acting on my instructions must also meet the requirements for data processing agreements under Art. 28 GDPR.
Usage analytics with Rybbit
To analyze usage and improve this website, I use the self-hosted Rybbit analytics software. It stores only anonymous usage statistics and does not set analytics cookies. For more information, see Rybbit’s privacy notice.
Contact and inquiries
If you email me, I process your sender address, message, and, where applicable, your name and attachments to respond to your request. I use Google Workspace to receive and handle email.
For inquiries about a contract or steps you take before entering one, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. I handle general inquiries under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is responding to you. Legally required retention is based on Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR.
Contacting me and providing your details is voluntary. Without enough information about your request and a way to contact you, I may not be able to respond. Please send only the information needed for your inquiry.
Interactive examples
The interactive examples in the services section let you try out workflows. The demo application processes your input in your browser’s memory and does not create a real order. Your demo input is lost when you reload the page. Interactions may also be recorded as described in the Rybbit section. Please do not enter confidential or personal information in the examples.
Recipients and external services
People responsible for handling your request and technical providers for hosting, email, maintenance, and security may access personal data when needed for their work. Data may be disclosed to authorities or others when required by law.
Links to GitHub, LinkedIn, Medium, and other external services take you to their providers when clicked. Their own privacy notices apply there; data may also be processed outside the EU or EEA. This website serves its font files itself.
Your rights
Under the applicable legal conditions, you have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), and data portability (Art. 20). You may withdraw consent at any time for the future (Art. 7(3)).
Right to object: Where processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object under Art. 21 GDPR for reasons relating to your particular situation. I will then stop processing the relevant data unless I can show compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights, and freedoms, or the processing is needed for legal claims.
To exercise your rights, contact me at kontakt@meierhoff-systems.de.
Right to lodge a complaint
Under Art. 77 GDPR, you can complain to a data protection authority, especially where you usually live, work, or where the suspected infringement occurred. In Hamburg, this is the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Ludwig-Erhard-Str. 22, 20459 Hamburg.
